Hi, I’m new to watch making but very excited to get started! I’ve not bought a DIY Watch Club kit, but I bought the DWC D02 dial and hands from here. I was surprised to find the dial doesn’t have feet, it has two tiny holes and it comes with screws. However, the ‘screws’ aren’t threaded, and they don’t screw into the corresponding holes on my NH70 movement - they fit into the holes but there is no grip so they just lift out, or fall out if I invert the watch. I’d be massively grateful if anyone can tell me what I’m missing.
There should have been pegs that will line up perfectly with the holes in the movement. You might want to reach out to DIY to see if they can send you a set. They’ve been pretty good about things like that with me.
Thanks. There were pegs with it - not attached to the dial like the feet most dials seem to have, but they appeared to be screws and there were holes in the dial for them - but at first they didn’t seem to have any grip when inserted into the holes in the grey plastic movement holder. However, when I went back and was a little more forceful I found they gripped and held the dial in place, so I was able to complete the build and am very happy with the finished product!
That’s great to hear. I have a few watches that I love, but I especially like this one as I asked my son to assemble it for me. Every time I look down at it, I think of him.
A lovely thing to have. If you attached a picture though, it’s not showing at this end - or did you mean it was one of the DIY watch club DWC D02 series?
