I’m having trouble with fire bluing hands. I used a dozen steel screws to get familiar with the process. I fire blued the Hours and Minutes and they turned out well.
I went to do the seconds hand and it did not turn out well. It had a bubbled texture, like a coating has come off. The layer was crumbling and comes off when touched. I tried hand #2 and similar results. Hand #3 similar results. I sanded the #3 down, polished with #50,000 diamond paste and tried to blue, but this did not work out well.
Can someone provide some guidance?
