I just completed the bronze case watch and the movement does not stay fully seated in the case. This results in the movement being pushed back against the case back and stopping the counter weight from auto winding the movement
Late reply, but maybe your problem is similar to mine. My kit was missing the chapter ring. Without it, the movement would be loose in the case. DIY promptly sent one out. End result is pretty beautiful. I’ve found DIY is very responsive to direct inquiries. You might try that.
