Keeping bad time

I just finished my first build of the skeleton dive watch. Absolutely hooked now but unfortunately looks like my watch is not keeping accurate time. I’m getting a good accurate sweep of the second hand, I’ve confirmed all parts that need to move are not blocked but after winding and setting the time I’ll look back in a few hours and find that the time is off by like 20 min. Or so. Any advice?

I’m assuming you don’t have a timegrapher on hand. But take a peep at the hair spring, the way it bounces. Look at some youtube videos and compare. Does it look like the entire coil is bouncing in and out? Does it look like it’s moving smoothly and consistently? WITHOUT TOUCHING IT. If you stop it (by NOT TOUCHING IT) does it show any bends or cat hairs? Are the rings concentric?

Does it lose time at specific times of the day? Or specific positions (dial up, dial down, on top of your MRI machine, etc.?)
