Miyota GMT Second Hand

Hello,
Assembling the watch (first DIY, but have repaired other watches). The second hand appears to be too large and free spins once installed.

Anyone else had this issue?

Thank you in advance.

I’m confident that the hole diameter on the second hand (both hands) is larger than the post. I measured the post at 15mm (seems 16mm or 17mm is the actual measurement from the Miyota website).

I cannot measure the holes on the second hands, but both are too large it seems.

I’m not sure about your measurements, those seem huge, but I believe I have this exact same problem. Ordered my 9075 GMT kit Sept 18, received Oct 7, and trying to assemble it now. The second hand post appears to be perfectly centered in the movement. When I place the hand, it is also centered, drops right onto the post and free spins. Frustrating. happens with both hands. I even got amazing alignment of the other hands up until now (date changes at 12:02am)

I wrote to customer service, see what they say in a few days

Afterward, I gave it one more go. The mount hole for the second hand is DEFINITELY too large. I can set the second hand just onto the post, shift the hand side to side to confirm I have it hooked right on the post, then I can remove my tweezers and the hand slides right down, fully onto the post, and spins.

Bummer, project is on hold for now.

This is a known issue. DIY ultimately sent me a new set of hands, but it took a while.

You can buy Miyota hands from Namoki for $25. They’re great quality, but the lume is C3 instead of BWG9.
