I just received my expedition series kit and I’m excited to get started. However, when I checked the movement up close, I notice scratches in the finish and a mark on the balance wheel. As much as I’d like to get started, I want to make sure that the movement is sound before I proceed. Since this is a sapphire dial model, the scratches will be visible (albeit on very close inspection) through the dial face. Any advice on how to proceed?

I tried uploading images, but I got an error message saying permission was denied.

I can’t say for sure what you mean by a “mark”, but mine has a mark on the balance wheel too. I think it is there by design. I wouldn’t worry about it

Don’t stress yourself over some scratches. At this price point, it’s something to be expected. And to be honest, most probably it won’t be noticeable in daily settings.
