Seiko 4R36 Movement Issue

After getting confident building my DIY Big pilot. I decided to try and adjust a Seiko watch that loses 30 second a day.

I had the case back open and using a timegrapher I was trying to correct the beat rate. It took me several attempts and I bot it down from 1.7 secs to 0.4. I tried another small adjustment that the watch just stopped and I can’t get it started again.

I was using a peg wood stick to make the adjustments. Could I have inadvertatly magnetized the watch? I tried to manually start the balance spring with a gentle touch but that does not work.

Any suggestions?

no, don’t think the peg wood stick had anything to do with it, most likely a tad too much pressure and a gear which is bent or pushed out of wack or dislocated, hence the main spring is jammed…imho

The tiny lever that you adjust to improve accuracy sist right above the escape wheel (the round device that spins back and forth. It is possible you put the wood peg into it and knocked it out of place or bent the spring attached to it. Just my thought. Hope that helps.
